The Taylor K14ce Koa Grand Auditorium comes with a AAA Sitka Spruce top and Hawaiian Koa back and sides. This wood is an extremely rare tonewood prized for its stunning golden hues, bold grain and sweet tone. Other features of this acoustic include abalone trim around the top and soundhole, figured maple binding and gold-plated tuners. A Venetian cutaway and the deep dark ebony fingerboard with attractive plant motif inlays provide visual accents and the very best functionality. The goal of optimal playability is also pursued by the tropical mahogany neck, which with its 15'' radius fits perfectly in the hand, and the Grand Auditorium body shape, which is Taylor's most versatile and popular shape for both light fingerstyle and extensive strumming. The Taylor at hand enchants with its balanced midrange, pearly highs and crisp bass. Super present, beautifully loud, balanced and coherent. The previous owner made a great upgrade for stage use by retrofitting an L.R. Baggs "MiSi Align XT" pickup.This pickup features an active, battery-less preamp designed specifically for easy retrofitting to Taylor guitars. It comes standard with volume control and active bass and treble controls that fit the exact dimensions of the existing Expression preamp. In addition, the same controls can be used as on the originally installed expression system, so that the appearance of the instrument remains unchanged. Furthermore, a piezo linearization scheme is used to amplify the sound of the guitar as authentically and precisely as possible.
