Sid Poole should be a very well known name to most Les Paul insiders. He is considered the British guitar building legend and his guitars are almost impossible to get. Sid Poole passed away in 2001 and since then his guitars have become highly sought after collector's items. Paul Reed Smith called Sid Poole one of the best guitar builders he met and the list of guitarists he built for reads like a Who's Who of the English guitar scene: Geoff Whitehorn, Whitesnake guitarists Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody, Clapton sideman Andy Fairweather and many more. All the more we are pleased to offer here the top model of his series. The guitar was built as a special order for Siggi Schwarz and on his Wikipedia page you can see him with exactly this guitar. Of course, this guitar was inspired by the legendary '59 Les Paul. But Sid Poole optimized the guitar by e.g. designing the neck transition so that playing up to the upper frets is possible. As pickups the legendary handwound Tom Holmes pickups were used. Probably one of the best PAF replicas you can get. Soundwise the guitar is oriented to the old Paulas ... very open and bell-like with a great response and a great tone. You simply have to have played it. An absolute Highlite for every Les Paul Gourmet! The guitar is in top condition.
