Gerhard Schwarz from Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate region of Bavaria has been one of Germany's up-and-coming guitar makers for several years now. Although still comparatively young in years, he produces great reminiscences of well-known guitar models with great attention to detail. And so it is only logical that you can read about his work more and more often in the big magazines. The conclusion is always the same: top marks!!! So today we are delighted to be able to offer you a very special St. Helens from his workshop, which comes with the surcharge option of a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard (of course with the necessary CITES certification). An absolutely outstanding guitar, which is not only made from the best woods, but above all is completely convincing with its outstanding sound. Without question one of the best “Goldtop” guitars currently available! Honduran mahogany for the body and neck, “Eastern Hardmaple” for the top, the aforementioned Brazilian rosewood for the fingerboard and a “Vintage Bone” saddle. The guitar enchants with its incredibly dynamic and differentiated sound, partly as a result of the fantastic tonewoods. Carefully selected components such as bone glue ensure the characteristic sound, which is transmitted by the proven P90 pickups from “Amber”. Great sound cinema with lots of wood and character in the tone! Balanced, crisp, and no matter whether it's bright, clean chords, singing solos on the neck pickup or rhythm riffs with twang - there's nothing that wouldn't sound fantastic on this guitar. From blistering Funk to warm Blues to earthy Rock, everything is possible here in absolute top form! It is well known that the wraparound tailpiece of the originals from the mid-fifties was an advantage, but also the Achilles heel of these guitars. Although you got an excellent vibration behavior, there were always problems with the intonation. The “Whiptail” from KMS (Kiss My Strings) installed here has not only solved this problem elegantly, but also contributes to the outstanding performance in the disciplines of string separation, attack and sustain. This gem with its slightly more powerful neck profile is in combination with its ideal weight of only 3810 grams excellent to play, especially because the frets are simply phenomenally dressed. The look is also convincing across the board as masterbuilder Gerhard Schwarz has skillfully added the first fine cracks in the varnish and a few dings and dongs to this specimen, so that the vintage sound and look together create a well-rounded picture. The authentic color alone is fantastic - that's how a “Goldtop” should be. This exclusive St. Helens comes to its future owner in top condition.
