In addition to Panucci from the Netherlands there is also a German at the forefront: Gerhard Schwarz. Coming from Bavaria he has created a real hype with his Schwarz Custom Guitars and based on everything we have held in our hands from him so far we can say: absolutely rightly so! Here you get instruments on highest Custom Shop level for a fair price. The Cellar 1 is modeled after the legendary Doublecut Juniors of the late 50s. With such a simple construction with a P90 and two knobs it's all about the quality. And here Schwarz has delivered impressively with his construction from Honduras mahogany. Great look and feel thanks to the thin nitro finish, which has minimal aging. The neck is grippy but not too fat and adds to the guitar's top resonance behavior without becoming uncomfortable when playing. The pickup is a Kloppmann SB52, which comes along with decent output and gives the guitar exactly the growly but transparent sound you want to hear from a dog-ear P90. Perfect not only for Hard Rock riffs, but also clean and quiet tones come dynamically and never too harsh from the speaker.
