Sometimes you open a case, pick up the guitar and you are completely fascinated, not only by the great look, but also by the extraordinary feel and sound. This is also the case with this Santa Cruz D Pre-War! Optical understatement, classy, but without additional bling-bling. Due to small quantities Santa Cruz works extremely consistently on every detail to create the perfect instrument, and accordingly every acoustic from this noble forge becomes something very special: resonant and beautifully light, the guitar responds to the smallest nuances of touch, wonderfully warm basses, plus the velvety shimmering overtones in the trebles and just the right amount of mids for above-average warmth and assertiveness. This great-sounding dreadnought with Indian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce soundboard has all the characteristic advantages of a Santa Cruz and is extremely comfortable and pleasant to play with its medium V neck profile. Of course these advantages have been enjoyed over the years, which is reflected in its above-average vibration behavior, but has also left some minimal signs of use. Otherwise the guitar is including the frets in top condition.
