Rock N Roll Relics Thunders Black and Burst (2018)

With every "Rock n Relics" guitar that we have received so far we are always fascinated by the incredibly cool symbiosis of sound, look and playability, ...and the whole thing at a price-performance ratio that you simply don't get anywhere else. Simply fantastic! This is also the case with this Thunders from the manufacture of Billy Rowe. The founder of Rock N Roll Relics has spent his whole life thinking about how to make guitars sound, feel and play great. The San Francisco-born guitarist grew up with the classic Rock of the 70s and landed in the middle of the Rock explosion of the 1980s that first lit up the Sunset Strip in Hollywood and then blew up speakers all over the world. With the Thunders here the outstanding resonance behavior of the guitar is noticeable even when played dry. This basic characteristic is transferred to the amp by the two pickups with plenty of smack and sustain. The Lollar P90 is beautifully crisp, direct, very fresh, wiry and yet with enough warmth for clean pickings and warm Blues. The Lollar humbucker is really fat and uncompromising with a generous invitation for hard riffs and singing lead sounds. The neck with its '59 profile and 12'' fretboard radius is also completely convincing and sits wonderfully comfortably in the hand. But what immediately catches the eye about this guitar is of course its fabulous look! A great rocked-out Black finish over a layer of Sunburst, interspersed with countless hairline cracks, variously pronounced quirks and paint abrasion in significant places. The icing on the cake is a white stinger on the back of the headstock. This is how you would imagine a Rock axe to be! We are pleased to be able to offer you this guitar in mint condition.
