One thing is for sure: when it comes to bursts, Angelo van Merrienboer, the mastermind behind Panucci Guitars, is a cut above the rest. We have rarely seen and played such authentic 59 replicas. On this 59 Inspired with the serial number C-80, he made a fantastic choice for the top, because that's exactly how messy and wildly flamed many tops of the real old Bursts look. Combined with the Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard (including CITES certification) and masterful aging, the result is a look that couldn't be more authentic. The feel of a vintage Paula continues seamlessly when you play. The neck with its pleasant 59 profile and rounded shoulders feels just as comfortable as the originals, and the sound leaves nothing to be desired: smacky, rich in sustain and with exactly the "nose" of the old PAFs, the 59 Inspired presents itself clean as well as distorted. Panuccis always have a bit more treble than many other burst replicas, which in our opinion reflects exactly the character of the old Paulas.
