PRS calls the SC245 "Vintage inspired", but of course you know what is meant: an alternative to the Les Paul. Like the model from Kalamazoo, it comes as a singlecut model with two humbuckers, 2 x volume and 2 x tone and a three-way toggle. In our specimen from 2009, a beautiful burst with a clear flame and a strong red component rounds off the overall picture. Most obvious difference: Here a wraparound bridge was installed, which comes with PRS but as is known with top intonation. As pickups are two 57/08 humbuckers in use, which are also modeled on the old Gibson PAFs. The wire was specially made at PRS and like the models they come with Alnico II magnets and nickel covers. The complete package of guitar and pickups behaves in practice exactly as it says on paper. Best vintage sound with airy highs, a great bite and lots of smackiness. Plus an authentic and comfortable feel thanks to the 50s profile of the neck. So if you're looking for a slightly less expensive alternative to the Les Paul, you should take a closer look at this classy player. Despite its age, the guitar is in near mint condition.
