To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Private Stock guitars, PRS launched the "Guitar of the Month" program for one year in 2016. Here, a different spectacular model was released every month, of which only 20 pieces were made in each case. Here we have the September guitar: a McCarty Singlecut with tremolo and 24 frets, whose body was covered with real (!) gold leaf as a highlight. This results in an extremely noble look, which is quite different from a "classic" gold top. Apart from the optical wow factor, you are of course dealing with an instrument of the absolute upper class. The neck with its grippy "pattern neck" profile simply feels great in the hand, while the 24 frets provide extra possibilities when playing. From the very first note, you notice the guitar's above-average resonance. Every chord sounds full and wonderfully balanced, and individual notes spoil the ear with plenty of sustain. For the transmission to the amp, the fantastic 58/15 humbuckers are responsible, which come up with the best vintage sound. Nice and smacky and with exactly the slight "nose" in the sound that you know from old PAFs. That's exactly how you want to hear it from a Goldtop! Since the guitar was inspired by a one-off for Carlos Santana and has exactly his preferred specs, he has immortalized himself with a signature on the backplate. Summa summarum really a unique instrument, which we can offer you in mint condition.
