Even after decades in the business Paul Reed Smith is constantly developing his guitars. He always incorporates his discoveries, a personal selection of woods and individual pickups into the so-called “Paul's Guitar”, which is based on the master's personal private stock guitar. Basically this is a further developed Modern Eagle. The neck and body are made of mahogany, the fingerboard of rosewood with the “Brushstroke Bird” inlays characteristic of Paul's Guitar and the top of “Carved Figured Maple”. As a highlight the guitar comes in an extremely rare black gloss finish with elegant cream-colored binding. The very comfortable Pattern neck profile also corresponds exactly to Paul's specifications and in combination with the exclusive woods results not only in incredible sustain, but also in a balanced and fresh basic sound as well as optimum playability. This is further enhanced by the fact that the Paul's Guitar at hand comes to its future owner with the proven and smooth-running “PRS Patented Tremolo”. “Paul” humbuckers, which can be split into singlecoils with two small toggle switches on this model, provide the transmission to the amp. For 2015 this means that very special, narrower 408 humbuckers have been installed here, which means that there are no compromises when it comes to the heart of the guitar, the sound. The two pickups are incredibly smacky, juicy and yet tight and defined. This is exactly how a modern Les Paul sound should sound! When the pickups are split to allow for more sound options, one side of the humbucker is switched off, but at the same time around 1500 turns are added to the remaining singlecoil to compensate for the difference in volume. In contrast to other guitars with the split feature, this ensures that there is only a barely perceptible difference in level when switching between the two modes. ...and it is precisely because of such harmonious and practical details that the rare Paul's Guitar is known: extremely well thought out and optimized for the demands of the modern musician! The fact that it is also an absolute Les Paul killer in humbucker mode makes the great overall package all the more attractive. The first time you hear the guitar in “loud” mode, you can't help but get excited: the humbuckers deliver a singing, full-bodied tone with just the right “nose” to give it a unique character. It's no wonder that Simon McBride, the killer guitarist in the current Deep Purple line-up, swears by “408s”. It is therefore an extraordinary pleasure for us to be able to offer you this beautiful, exclusive and soundmighty dream guitar in top condition.
