PRS Modern Eagle II Red Tiger (2008)

Since its introduction in 2005 the Modern Eagle has closed the gap between the standard range and the Private Stock series at PRS. Selected “Artist Grade” tops and solid rosewood necks are the most obvious advantages of these guitars, of which five versions are now available. Although they all differ in terms of pickup configuration and a few other minor specifications, they all have one thing in common: the Modern Eagles are consistently outstanding and among the best available from Paul Reed Smith below the Private Stock level. Compared to the previous version the Modern Eagle II, which was released in 2008, had a gloss finish and a solid neck made of Indian rosewood, which replaced the now strictly protected Rio rosewood. However, the biggest difference is the pickups used: “Modern Eagle II” humbuckers, which are regarded as the forerunners of the 57/08s. The very best choice for Blues and Rock! From singing lead and heavy rhythm sounds to the funky intermediate position and the warm, open Blues sounds on the neck, everything is possible here! The guitar also has the option of coil splitting (activated via the tone poti), which does not actually switch off a coil, but simply reduces the number of active windings slightly. The playability is also first-class here as the Pattern profile, derived from the “Wide Fat” profile with only narrower shoulders, is perfect and extremely comfortable to play for any hand size. You probably don't need to say much about the look, the pictures speak for themselves. The high-gloss lacquered top in “Red Tiger” finish with pronounced wood grain can definitely be the eye-catcher on any stage. So of course it's no surprise that this PRS was played with pleasure. This results in a wonderfully swung in basic character of the guitar and the one or other slight trace of use (including traces of a strap left in the case on the back). However, otherwise it comes in top condition to its future owner, who will certainly enjoy this absolute top player.
