PRS McCarty Archtop II Prototype (1997)

This super rare PRS McCarty Archtop II is one of the last prototypes built before the McCarty Archtop II series started in 1998. The series was built only from 1998 to 2001 and therefore these guitars are almost nowhere to get. And with this prototype, PRS really went the extra mile. Incredibly beautiful Quilted Maple top and back. In the series later 100% 10-top Quilted. Plus the familiar Abalone Bird inlays. Wide fat neck profile and McCarty archtop pickups. This guitar is simply a dream to play. The frets are as good as new with no play marks and perfectly dressed. The neck feels great in the hand and plays like itself. But all this is topped by the sound. Whether jazz, blues, clean or slightly distorted, here you do not want to stop playing.Incredibly beautiful tone and if you play around with the tone pot, you get all the classic jazz sounds. In the middle position, the pickups are switched out of phase for thinner, Strat-like sounds. And at the bridge, you can rock out here too. Dream archtop guitar in best workmanship and top condition. First choice for collectors and players!
