The Signature Series was the first special series issued by Paul Reed Smith with specially selected woods and thus the forerunner of today's Private Stock Series. From this special series we have here a particularly beautiful example with a top made of three-dimensional Quilted Maple, a fingerboard made of very dark Brazilian rosewood(!) with one-piece Old School Mother of Pearl inlays. The neck is comparable to today's Regular profile, in terms of pickups the treble and bass humbuckers common at the time are used, managed by a 5-way rotary switch. Besides the volume control there is also the so-called Sweet switch, which can be used to cut the treble. The guitar is in excellent optical and technical condition with only slight signs of use. For the fingerboard made of Brazilian rosewood the corresponding CITES 1 permit is included.
