In terms of flexibility and variety the PRS 513 is certainly unsurpassed, producing a total of 13 great sounds from five single coils. Its tonal range really should cover pretty much everything a guitarist's heart could desire. Since humbuckers cannot produce such a wide range of sounds PRS opted for five singlecoils, which can be switched into those 13 combinations using the two multi-way switches. The 5-way switch at the bottom works in the same way as on a Strat. The 3-way switch at the top functions as a mode switch and offers the choice between "Heavy Humbucking", "Clear Humbucking" and "Singlecoil" mode. It is particularly worth mentioning that the middle pickup always functions as a singlecoil, from which the intermediate positions of both "Humbucking" modes benefit in particular as the singlecoil provides the humbuckers with slightly more mids and highs. With a slightly longer scale length of 25.25″, an ideal weight of 3695 grams and the tried and tested Wide/Fat neck profile this 513 is extremely comfortable to play and you won't want to stop whizzing over the dark rosewood fingerboard decorated with elegant bird inlays. And as is usual with guitars from Paul Reed Smith the look is not neglected here. Wonderfully grained, specially selected 10-top in the most beautiful Violin Amber Sunburst. We are delighted to be able to offer you this multi-faceted top instrument, which is unfortunately no longer in production and is therefore difficult to find, in top condition (including frets) apart from a few belt buckle scratches and minor signs of use.
