This Axis feels so good in the hand right from the start that you'd think you've owned it for 10 years. The not-too-thin C-profile of the neck caters to vintage aficionados, but is so well shaped that you can dash across the fretboard without a speed limit. The rest of the specs also focus on high practical value: The tremolo works precisely and without detuning, the locking tuners simplify string changes, the neck can be conveniently adjusted from the body, and both humbuckers can be split via a 5-way switch for more sound options. Even without an amp, the blend of balanced sound and fast response is convincing. Even amplified, the Axis combines the warmth of a Les Paul with the liveliness of a Strat with maple neck. Just the right mix for crunchy rhythm sounds and singing leads! All in all a great all-round guitar with a focus on rock. The Axis comes with moderate playwear.
