John Mayer, guitar virtuoso and brilliant songwriter, is probably one of the best-known musicians of modern times. Martin guitars have always been essential to his acoustic sound. The first collaboration between John Mayer and Martin Guitars saw the launch of a strictly limited signature model. They then wanted to go one step further and bring a more affordable model onto the market. Thus the Martin OMJM was born. Based on the OM-28 John Mayer and Martin Guitars developed this signature model, which is equipped with back and sides made of East Indian rosewood and a top made of Engelmann spruce. This kind of spruce sounds somewhat softer and warmer than the usual Sitka spruce, which fits in perfectly with the gentle melodies of John's songwriting. The neck width is a slim 42.9 mm. In combination with the Low-Oval neck profile this results in a neck that is super comfortable in the hand and makes the acoustic guitar easy to play for electric guitarists, too. The abalone soundhole rosette and very special fingerboard inlays, including a signature on the 20th fret, ensure a sophisticated look. Every Martin OMJM John Mayer Signature comes with a very high-quality case including the John Mayer emblem. A very interesting model not only for fans as it represents the perfect combination of classic look, best playability and soft, voluminous sound. ...and for stage use a "Fishman Gold Plus Natural 1" pickup completes the unique overall package.
