Martin HD-35 Reimagined (2019)

A Martin HD-35 can of course immediately impress visually with its 3-piece back made of East Indian rosewood. It looks simply beautiful, but there are also tonal aspects behind this construction. The bass foundation is comparatively a little stronger and this HD-35 with its scalloped bracing also exhibits top-class vibration behavior. This "top bracing" provides more balance and pronounced nuances across the entire sound spectrum. The resulting sound enchants with rich and powerful basses, subdued mids and crystal-clear highs, making it the first choice for both singer/songwriters and flatpickers. And the playability of this HD-35 is also completely convincing thanks to a nut width of 4.44 cm and its flatter "Modified Low Oval Profile/High Performance Taper" neck profile, which is increasingly becoming one of the most popular neck profiles. The wood selection is traditional with a top made from classic Sitka spruce and back and sides made from solid East Indian rosewood. Powerful and always assertive, but still with plenty of room for fine articulations. The classic vintage look is further enhanced here by treating the top with an aging toner, adding a gorgeous patina to the finish of the guitar. Matching this extremely attractive appearance is the characteristic faux tortoise pickguard, a deep dark ebony fingerboard and the legendary Herringbone binding.
