This HD-28 really makes our musicians' hearts beat faster. Although it dates back to 2002 this 22-year-old beauty shows only minimal signs of use. Nevertheless the acoustic is very well swung in and balanced. Great string action and thanks to its medium “Oval C” neck profile it offers the very best playability. But the highlight here is definitely the sound. Only rarely do you play an HD-28 that sounds as wonderfully open, resonant and balanced as this one. It simply sounds exactly how you would like to hear the classic dreadnought sound on a recording. At the first chord you immediately notice the particularly easy response and the powerful sound. The guitar presents an outstanding sound volume, but this in no way detracts from the transparency. Its outstanding response makes fingerpicking a real pleasure. And when playing chords the guitar enchants with rich basses and beautiful selectivity. Its look is based on classic models: top made of traditional Sitka spruce with back and sides made of East Indian rosewood, enhanced by the characteristic herringbone ornamentation. First choice for anyone looking for the classic Martin dreadnought sound at its best.
