Here we have the extremely rare and strictly limited D-42 Signature model of the legendary "Man in Black". 100 pieces were to be built, but only 80 were finally completed. This model here is in top condition except for a few minimal traces of playing and is not only visually but also sonically a delicacy. Each model is hand-signed by Johnny Cash, which makes these guitars very sought-after collector's items. Like all Johnny Cash Signature models this D-42 is of course painted completely black. It has a spruce top and East Indian Rosewood sides and back. The bottom is made of three parts. Very distinctive are the abalone trim and star fretboard inlays with Johnny's signature, inlaid on the 20th fret. The sound of this guitar is convincing all along the line. Incredibly wide frequency spectrum, very full and open sound, almost like a piano. Plays simply great and is first choice for collectors and players!
