George Benson, a successful Jazz and Fusion guitarist who has also played with Miles Davis, has been awarded ten Grammys over the years. To mark the 40th anniversary of the collaboration between this exceptional artist and Ibanez the Japanese guitar manufacturer released this special model in a strictly limited edition of just 40 specimens. The GB 40TH is a semi-hollow with a single cutaway and solid spruce top with ƒ-holes and multi-ply binding. Flamed maple back and sides, a three-piece maple neck with a large headstock and a 22-fret ebony fingerboard are further features of this signature guitar. Gorgeous mother-of-pearl inlays in the fingerboard, headstock and tailpiece round off the elegant overall look. The features also include two floating Ibanez GB Special humbuckers, which eliminate feedback and produce a wonderfully warm Jazz sound. Individual volume and tone controls, a height-adjustable ebony bridge with an adjustable, split trapeze tailpiece, a flamed maple pickguard and Gotoh tuning machines make the GB 40TH an all-round harmonious instrument that is an absolute “must have” not only because of its immense rarity and excellent value retention. The playability is also first-class thanks to the Custom GB neck profile, the bound fingerboard edges and a dream weight of just 3160 grams. This semi-hollow delivers beautifully bright, sweet tones with plenty of projection and excellent dynamics. Great jazzy warmth and incredible articulation, snappy attack and great sustain. We are delighted to be able to offer you this special gem, which comes with a certificate signed by George Benson as a special treat, in top condition from collector's hand.
