In 1995 the Huss & Dalton Guitar Company was founded in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, based on the friendship and shared interests of Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton. Their goal was to build highly playable, extremely resonant and attractive guitars that matched their sense of aesthetics and sound. Although the two luthiers valued traditional design they envisioned guitars that were grounded in tradition, but would also meet modern standards of playability. The Crossroads models have a special place in their range of instruments as they have their origins in the old Blues music that came from the Mississippi Delta in the early 20th century. And so the guitars also have the look and sound of the old instruments favored by the masters of the genre. Huss and Dalton created the acoustic at hand by flattening the top of a regular dreadnought, shortening the scale length and changing the bracing to compensate. Together with the classic, simple look in dark sunburst and the cream-colored binding the result is - in their own word - a "workingman's guitar of epic proportions". Tonally extremely balanced and despite its smaller body voluminous and with a bassy presence this guitar is an extremely handy instrument for singer/songwriters and the first choice for both strumming and fingerpicking. The top is made of Sitka spruce while the back and sides are made of mahogany. And with its strong neck this lightweight guitar, which we can offer you in top condition, is also a pleasure to play.
