Michael Greenfield has a passion for tone, for great and fat tone. Before deciding to build instruments full-time in the mid-90s he spent about 20 years repairing and restoring vintage instruments. In addition, he has now been playing guitar himself for over 40 years. Today he crafts only 14 to16 exquisite acoustic guitars each year in his Montréal workshop, meticulously made from the finest tonewoods available including Makassar ebony, ziricote, cocobolo, Amazonian rosewood, koa and alpine spruce that was harvested in moonlight. His guitars meet the needs of traditional and modern players of all musical styles and his goal is to have his clientele not only satisfied with their new guitar, but absolutely thrilled with it! And so were we when we opened the case of this unique Model #271. What a killer acoustic, where already visually every smallest detail was taken care of. Gorgeous moonlight-harvested alpine spruce top with ultra-thin lacquer finish, marvellous Indian rosewood back and sides, Sapele mahogany neck, ebony body inlays and a rosette of Paua heart abalone and spalted beech. And what the looks of this stunning classical concert guitar promise, its sound can even surpass: super balanced with a direct response, fascinating tonal richness, wonderfully warm, round mids and powerful highs. This combined with the buttery smooth, extremely comfortable playability makes this guitar, which we can offer you in mint condition, a must-have for all acoustic lovers who want to passionately savor every single note.
