Like many guitarists who are on tour with their favorite instrument Sheryl Crow was constantly worried that her favorite 1962 Gibson Country Western would not survive the rigors of touring for much longer. So she contacted Gibson in the hope of having an exact replica made with some more modern specifications. That was the starting signal for this "Sheryl Crow Signature". In principle, this is a Southern Jumbo, which was produced from 1942, offered in a natural finish from 1954 and named "Country Western" from 1956 on. The workmanship, choice of wood and construction are of the highest standard. Gibson not only connects the neck and body with the very stable dovetail joint, but the top of this flat-top also has a slight, barely perceptible curve. In conjunction with the "Single X" bracing this results in increased rigidity and less stress on the top joints. The slight curvature also has a positive effect on the sound projection, particularly in the mid-range. This acoustic with a solid AAA Sitka Spruce top and solid mahogany sides and back produces an extremely brilliant sound with great basses, balanced mids and beautiful, pearly highs. First choice for both strumming and fingerpicking! Visually the combination of the Antique Cherry top with the deep red mahogany back and sides is of course an absolute eye-catcher. The elegant Hummingbird-style pickguard, Mother-of-Pearl parallelogram inlays and Gotoh nickel tuners with butterbean buttons are a perfect match. An Amulet M pickup system was also installed for stage use. The neck has a comfortable C-profile, which is neither too thick nor too thin and in conjunction with a nut width of 44.2 mm guarantees the very best, extremely comfortable playability. Another special feature of the Gibson is the label signed by Sheryl Crow. We are delighted to be able to offer you this perfect acoustic including the frets in absolute top condition.
