Here we have something like the ultimate rarity of the Gibson acoustic world. The gem comes from a limited replica series of 175 copies of Bob Dylan's original SJ200. The first three copies were reserved for Bob Dylan personally. In order to still get to 175 copies, another three were built, originally to serve as backups should Bob want to sell one of his personal instruments. These three guitars were labeled VIP1, VIP2 and VIP3. Over time, one of these three guitars was purchased by an acquaintance of Bob Dylan, one went to China - and VIP2 we can offer you in pristine condition! Documentation of the story is included as a letter from Robi Johns, Gibson Acoustic's head of marketing, and the label in the soundhole is hand-signed by Bob Dylan. If you dare to play the guitar anyway, you get jumbo sound par excellence here. Wonderfully balanced and therefore perfect for strumming. Of course, because the SJ200 VIP2 is made of only the finest materials: AAA Sitka top and Highly Figured Indian Rosewood, plus the richly ornamented double pickguard and the elaborate inlays in the fingerboard as a visual treat. Apart from the rarity value (after all, the VIP guitars were never meant to be sold!), we are dealing with a real beauty and hammer studio guitar, which is also buttery smooth to play thanks to the not too beefy neck profile.
