In 2017 Gibson came up with the so-called "Painted over series". These are Les Pauls that are modeled after the original 50s Les Pauls, where the owners wanted a color other than sunburst or gold. Over the years, the finish was played off and in some places the original color came back through. Here we have the Black over Sunburst model. On the handrest you can clearly see the red edge of the sunburst underneath and in the wood grain you can even see the flamed top! Particularly noteworthy in this model is the very successful aging. Reminds me overall very much of the Blackburst from the CC series. What a cool rock Les Paul! At the amp simply amazing. Very resonant with only 3930 grams and super direct and dynamic. The Custombucker Alnico III pickups smack of the finest and always remain beautifully differentiated. I can really warmly recommend to any player. The neck has a rather strong profile somewhere between a thicker 58 and a normal 59. The guitar is in top condition.
