Here we have something really rare: a Gibson Les Paul Joe Perry Signature, the very first signature guitar of the Aerosmith guitarist, which was only produced from 1996 to 1999 and laid the foundation for the later models of the Custom Shop. The Les Paul was fitted with a beautifully grained maple top with a great “Charcoal” gloss finish on a one-piece, comparatively wider mahogany body and tasteful black hardware. The mahogany neck with its stronger “57 Fat” profile sits perfectly in the hand and invites you to enjoy hours of playing. As was customary at the end of the 1990s this Paula also impresses with a lot of swing mass and delivers a mercilessly fat tone from a “57 Classic” on the neck and a “Customwound J. Perry” humbucker on the bridge. This configuration not only delivers the nasal “Out of Phase” sound of Mr. Perry, but also a really big and fat sound! In addition, the upper tone pot conceals a 9db mid-boost, the frequency range of which can be adjusted using the control, creating an authentic wah-wah effect. Of course, this exclusive gem, which also has Perry's signature replicated on its elegant top, has been played a lot over the last 27 years, which is reflected in the various signs of use. However, otherwise it is including the frets and electronics in very good condition. So you can not only secure a piece of music history here, but also a wonderfully well-balanced top player with a really fat sound and the best price/performance ratio. This is definitely not just a toy in the attic!
