The Collectors Choice Les Paul number 15 is a replica of the original 1958 Burst owned by country pioneer and Grammy award winner Greg Martin of the Kentucky Headhunters. It was released by the Gibson Custom Shop in a limited edition of 300 specimens. The top of the Les Paul at hand from this series immediately catches the eye with its subtle but extremely interesting grain. Depending on the viewing angle you can see a plain top, but also a subtle flame. Subtle and simply super authentic! The neck has just the right profile - by no means a thick 58 baseball bat, but an extremely comfortable neck that feels a little thicker than a Medium 59. The fresh and vibrant basic sound of the guitar is transmitted to the amp by the two Custombuckers with plenty of smack and sustain. Considering that Greg Martin comes from a country background the guitar sounds amazingly rocking! When distorted the sun really rises here and the CC invites you to rock the riffs on the bridge and sing lead lines on the neck. In combination with the great playing comfort you simply get a fantastic Les Paul with a subtle aging look for all situations in life.
