Joe Perry, Slash, Tom Murphy - can it ever get any better? We're pleased to offer you a very special rarity here: a 2003 Les Paul modeled after Joe Perry's 1959 Paula, which Perry played for decades on a variety of studio recordings and worldwide tours before passing it on to Slash. The Guns'n'Roses guitarist eventually immortalized the guitar with his unique solo in the video for "November Rain." But that's not all! This very first and detailed replica of Perry's Les Paul (limited to 12 copies) was aged by Tom Murphy himself with countless hairline cracks, authentic quirks and abrasions. Also, this guitar represents the only Gibson ever released by the Custom Shop with the serial number of the original on the back of the headstock (the correct 2003 production number is only noted in the electronics compartment). ...and as a special highlight the original was also featured in Yasuhiko Iwanade's "The Beauty of the Burst" in a two-page spread, which of course only adds to the collector's value of this excellent replica. But one should not reduce this dream instrument only to its collector value, because we also have here an absolute top player with the corresponding killer sound à la Perry and Slash. The not too powerful medium neck plays great, which in combination with an ideal weight of only 3935 grams results in a first-class playing experience. And the sound is, of course as expected, really fat! Smacking, differentiated Rock sound at its best with an extremely characteristic tone. Both clean and distorted shows an equally plastic as energetic sound that is just fun! The guitar is in top condition including the frets and comes with all original accessories.
