We consider ourselves lucky that we were allowed to have the present killer Paula in front of our eyes and to hold it in our hands for once. Because you really don't get to see such a gorgeous finish very often! As the initials "TM" in the control compartment of this 60th Anniversary prove it was painted by Tom Murphy himself, which is extremely rare since the opening of the Murphy Lab, making such guitars extremely sought-after collector's items with best value retention. But even among such rare pieces this 1960 Les Paul, which comes from a limited small series that the Gibson Custom Shop delivered to Musikhaus Hermann, stands out. It is probably one of the best Les Pauls that ever left the Custom Shop. With its insane top (surcharge option) you can't help but be amazed at the incredible flame, the fantastic color gradient in the special "Murphy's Tea-Time" color and the myriad "Authentic Aging" details of the Murphy Lab. So it already shows itself from a very fine side with its phenomenal appearance and classy playing comfort thanks to the perfect "50s Rounded Tom Murphy Shape" neck profile, hand-selected woods and a dream weight of less than 3.6 kg. The neck profile is somewhere between a '59 and a '60 neck, like the V1 profile. But with its airy, transparent and yet really smacky sound it goes one better. Even without an amp its dry, woody vintage character is convincing. And at the amp the wonderfully balanced, unpotted, Murphy-Spec Custombuckers (lightly-underwound at the neck), which were modeled after old PAFs, show their full potential with growling basses, wiry mids and radiant highs. This Les Paul simply has to be seen and played to believe what caliber of guitar we are talking about here. We can offer you the guitar from collector's hand and therefore in mint, practically unplayed condition.
