Joe Walsh - legendary guitarist of the Eagles - is associated above all with a guitar that accompanied him throughout much of his musical career: a 1960 Les Paul. Joe Walsh had two Paulas in 1968, but found the 60s far better than the other, which he consequently passed on to Jimmy Page. In 2013 the Gibson Custom Shop issued a replica of his 1960 Les Paul in a strictly limited edition with only 75 specimens in the aged version being produced. The Paula at hand with the serial number 047 immediately catches the eye thanks to its beautifully figured top and an extremely beautiful Tangerine Burst. The aging was carried out by none other than the legendary aging master Tom Murphy himself, who faithfully reproduced the appearance of the original with the characteristic larger and smaller imperfections. Every dent, every notch and even the worn paint on the back have been faithfully replicated here. It doesn't get any better than this! The neck with its 60's Slim Taper profile sits perfectly in the hand and plays excellently in combination with the slightly higher frets. Even when played dry the Les Paul vibrates really well and this fine vibration behavior is transmitted to the amp in the best possible way by the specially wound Alnico-III Custombucker, which are based on the originals. Very characterful, dynamic tone that is 100% convincing both clean and distorted and with singing lead sounds. Super response and you can work really well with the tone. We are delighted to be able to offer you this really great specimen in top condition.
