Gibson Les Paul 60 Joe Walsh Aged & Signed (2013)

It's not often that you get your hands on a Gibson Les Paul Joe Walsh. So we are all the more delighted to be in the fortunate position of being able to offer two of these exclusive Paulas today. This guitar is a faithful replica of the 60's Les Paul that accompanied Joe for much of his musical career. Walsh had two Les Pauls in 1968, but found the '60 far better than the other, which he consequently passed on to Jimmy Page. In 2013 the Gibson Custom Shop issued a replica of his 1960 Les Paul in a strictly limited edition with only 50 specimens of the “Aged & Signed” version being made. Beautiful top with phenomenal grain and great color gradient in the characteristic “Tangerine Burst”. The aging was carried out by none other than the legendary aging master Tom Murphy, who faithfully recreated the appearance of the original with the characteristic signs of use and wear. Every dent, every notch and even the worn varnish on the back have been faithfully replicated here. The neck with its 60's Slim Taper profile sits perfectly in the hand and plays excellently in combination with the slightly higher frets. The specially wound Alnico-III Custombuckers perfectly reproduces the sound of Joe Walsh's legendary Burst. Extremely full of character, dynamic, clean as well as distorted and convincing across the board with singing lead sounds. Great response and a great pleasure to work with.
