Eric Clapton's work on the 1966 John Mayall album "Blues Breakers" inspired an entire generation of aspiring blues guitarists. The cover of the record featured Eric reading the Beano comic strip, so it became known as the "Beano" album. ...and the instrument he used, a recently acquired 1960 Gibson Les Paul with a sunburst finish, became known as the Beano guitar. Later that year Eric began rehearsals for his new supergroup Cream in a church hall in northwest London. During these rehearsals his beloved Les Paul was stolen before he had a chance to play it in public or in the studio with his new band. Based on Clapton's memory the Gibson Custom Shop released a detailed replica of this guitar in 2010 in a strictly limited edition. Only 95 copies of the Beano were produced in the aged version. So we are happy to offer you here serial number 088. With its great neck, whose profile is somewhere between a 59 and 60 neck (so not quite as flat as the typical Slim Tapers), it is extremely comfortable to play. Tonally, like all the Beanos we've had, this Paula is very open and resonant with a particularly direct response and a killer tone. The especially built Custombuckers sing very nicely, always differentiated without mulch or mud. So this legendary collector's item offers not only best value preservation but also fantastic playing and sound characteristics. Meanwhile almost all Beanos have disappeared from the market, so you should not wait too long here! Especially because we can offer you this rare gem in top condition with all additions such as poster, strap, vinyl LP and case candies.
