Gibson Les Paul 60 Eric Clapton "Beano" Aged (2011)

Eric Clapton's work on the 1966 John Mayall album "Blues Breakers" inspired a whole generation of budding Blues guitarists. The cover of the record featured Eric reading the Beano comic strip, so it became known as the "Beano" album. ...and the instrument he used, a recently acquired 1960 Gibson Les Paul with a Sunburst finish, became known as the "Beano" Les Paul. Later that year Eric began rehearsals for his new supergroup Cream in a church hall in North West London. During these rehearsals his beloved Paula was stolen before he had a chance to play it in public or in the studio with his new band. Based on Clapton's memory of this guitar the Gibson Custom Shop released a faithful replica in a strictly limited edition in 2010. Only 95 specimens of the Beano were produced in the aged version. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer you serial number 070 here. With its great neck, the profile of which is between a 59s and 60s neck (i.e. not quite as flat as the typical Slim Tapers), it is extremely comfortable to play. The sound of this Paula like all the Beanos we've had so far is very open and resonant with a particularly direct response and a great tone. The specially manufactured humbuckers sing beautifully, always differentiated without mulch or mud. This legendary collector's item therefore offers fantastic playing and sound characteristics in addition to the best value retention. As almost all Beanos have now disappeared from the market you shouldn't wait too long. Especially since we can offer you this rare gem in top condition.
