Here we have an irretrievable opportunity for collectors and those interested in music history: one of the already super rare "Beano" Paulas in the "Aged & Signed" version from Steve Miller's personal collection! Eric Clapton's work on the John Mayall album "Blues Breakers" from 1966 inspired a whole generation of coming Blues guitarists. The cover of the record featured Eric reading the Beano comic strip, so it became known as the "Beano" album. ...and the instrument he used, a recently acquired 1960 Gibson Les Paul with a Sunburst finish, became known as the "Beano" Les Paul. In 2010 the Gibson Custom Shop released a faithful replica of this guitar in a strictly limited edition. Only 55 specimens of this version, which was not only fantastically aged by Tom Murphy but also signed by Eric Clapton himself, exist worldwide. We can offer you serial number 45 here, which also has a very special, unique ingredient: it comes from the personal collection of Steve Miller, who played it at numerous concerts with the Steve Miller Band. This is confirmed by the accompanying signed certificate of authenticity. And this Les Paul is also an inspiring player. With its great neck, which profile is somewhere between a 59 and 60 neck (i.e. not quite as flat as the typical Slim Tapers) it is extremely comfortable to play. The sound of this Paula, like all the Beanos we've had so far, is very open and resonant with a particularly direct response and a great tone. The specially manufactured humbuckers sing beautifully, always differentiated without mulch or mud. The very best playing and sound characteristics paired with the names "Eric Clapton" and "Steve Miller" - could there be a more legendary combination? We are delighted to be able to offer you this very special icon of music history in top condition with only minimal signs of use (that were caused by Steve Miller).
