We are very happy to be able to offer you two Les Pauls today that have been "painted" by Tom Murphy himself as evidenced by the initials "TM" in the control compartment of the guitars. Such special Gibsons from the Custom Shop are very sought-after since the opening of the Murphy Lab due to their high rarity value and will be even harder to get in the future, as Tom Murphy will finally retire into a well-deserved retirement. This Paula, a special order for Musikhaus Hermann, in beautiful "Murphy's Tea Time" finish immediately captivates with its phenomenal top grain and near perfect bookmatching. Rounding out the phenomenal appearance is a heavy aging of the Murphy Lab that could not be more authentic. Countless hairline cracks, larger and smaller quirks, and abrasion in all the right places adorn the surface here giving the Les Paul an attractive vintage look. But the look doesn't stop there for this 60th Anniversary with hand-selected woods and MHH upgrade specs. It immediately impresses with its super weight of only 3990 grams and the incredibly comfortable "50s Rounded Tom Murphy Shape" neck profile. Contrary to original expectations, we are not dealing with an extremely thin 60 neck profile but rather with a 59-medium profile, that accommodates all hand sizes in the most comfortable way. Like all instruments with the exclusive MHH-Specs this Les Paul also resonates really well, which the two unpotted Custombuckers transmit to the amp in the best manner. These Customerbuckers are "Murphy-Specs", which correspond exactly to Tom Murphy's tonal demands. Thus, the neck pickup was designed "underwound" and is warm, transparent, three-dimensional and never undifferentiated or muddy in the basses at clean amp settings. At higher gain settings all sounds from Gary Moore to Mike Bloomfield to Bill Gibbons can be covered. The bridge pickup is fat and smacking with rich basses and biting but never shrill highs. Soundwise absolute upper league! We can offer you this gem, where sound, playability and look form a perfect whole, in mint condition.
