Without much ado... For me, one of the most beautiful, best-sounding and most perfect Les Pauls I've ever had in my hands. Gibson shows with this instrument from the so-called "Good Wood" era what perfect guitar craftsmanship means. And it is not for nothing that these extremely rare instruments from the beginning of 1994, hand-lacquered by Murphy, are already being traded beyond EUR 20,000. For me these are the Bursts of the future! The present dream guitar features an incredible top grain, perfect bookmatching and a captivating color gradient from yellow-gold to medium brown at the edges. Moreover, its paint job was done by Tom Murphy himself, who painted the first 25 R9s himself in 1993 and the first 200 specimens (serial numbers 9-4000 to 9-4200) in 1994. This, of course, gives this Les Paul a significant rarity and collector value in addition to a classy look. Since the top and the finish look different from every angle and with every light source we have included pictures in daylight, as well as studio light. Furthermore this guitar comes with a not too beefy 59 medium neck profile, which is great in the hand and offers fatigue-free playing comfort. At the time Gibson also used the slightly higher frets, which, combined with the top weight of this Les Paul (only 3920 grams!), has a very positive effect on the perfet playability. In addition, there is an open, resonant sound, which is really rare to find. The guitar - equipped with Classic 57 pickups - smacks, sings, is differentiated, delivers an extremely direct response and a really great tone. So, in addition to the obvious collector considerations and best value retention it also offers all the qualities you want in a fantastic player guitar! You have to be quick, because Tom-Murphy-painted Les Pauls from the Good-Wood-era are almost impossible to get anymore. We are happy to be able to offer you this delicacy in top condition with only minimal playing marks. A certificate was not available at that time, but the guitar comes with the original Gibson warranty card including serial number and model.
