First of all this 1959 Les Paul comes across as extremely classy in the beautiful Southern Fade Burst color and subtle VOS finish. But what immediately catches the eye is the charming top with a uniquely pronounced grain, a great color gradient and perfect bookmatching. Like all 60th Anniversaries we've dealt with so far this Paula convinces with a great wood selection and best workmanship. Even the back in deep dark red is a feast for the eyes here with the special 60th Anniversary medallion. Especially comfortable with this series is also the 59-medium neck profile with the rounded shoulders. You can flit over the fretboard for hours and don't want to put the Les Paul down. And in terms of sound I go into raptures here anyway. The unpotted Alnico-III Custombuckers are super dynamic, open and smacking at their best.
