The '59 Pre-Historic Les Pauls enjoy a very good reputation and were built by Gibson to historically accurate specs before the official launch of the Custom Shop. It is said that Gibson still had the best woods and tops at that time, which this guitar can prove particularly vividly. Fantastic grain and a fantastic color gradient adorn the elegant gloss finish. This Paula also features original Gibson "Bill Lawrence" pickups, which are known for their phenomenal sound. The guitar is completely original, all four potis are dated to 1989. Apart from minor signs of wear on the back and the frets the guitar is in top condition. The neck is not quite as thick as today's '59 necks, but rather has a pleasant, not so strong medium profile. This guitar has been played in for more than 30 years and you can hear that. Nothing is muddy here, very balanced and direct. The neck pickup sings beautifully and almost has a slight Strat character, just like the real old Les Pauls. The bridge pickup offers a great response and really rocks out with a great tone without ever sounding muddy or undifferentiated. A unique Paula with the perfect combination of sound, look and playability, coupled with considerable potential for value appreciation. It doesn't get any better than this! You shouldn't think too long here...
