This guitar from 2006 comes from the "Gibson Historic Collection", in which particular emphasis was placed on being as true to detail as possible to the historical models. Furthermore, this 59 Les Paul reissue was hand-aged by none other than Tom Murphy himself. Back then the aging was a little more subtle but already incredibly authentic. Countless hairline cracks, which are definitely indistinguishable from "real" ones, adorn the beautifully patinated vintage finish. On top of that we have a beautifully grained maple top with a really nice flame and a fantastic bookmatching. The neck has a typical '59 profile, by no means too fat, and is easy to play in all registers. Even when played dry the guitar shows above-average vibration behavior, which is transmitted perfectly to the amp by the two Burstbuckers (neck: 1, bridge: 2). Juicy, smacking and fat with an extremely direct response and no mud in distortion mode. This is how you imagine a '59 Paula! Full and differentiated, the sound comes through very quickly and has a stable and long sustain. The neck sounds super open with beautiful highs, the bridge extremely powerful and clear. Those were really great times when Tom Murphy and Edwin Wilson worked together in the Gibson Custom Shop and created such fantastic instruments. As a special treat both protagonists of this absolute dream team have signed the certificate of this Les Paul, which of course only increases its special collector's value. Apart from minor signs of use the guitar comes to its future owner in top condition including the frets.
