This '59 is one of the most beautiful custom shop bursts we have ever had the pleasure of selling. The guitar is finished in "Factory Burst", the exact color in which Gibson delivered the Les Pauls in 1959. You can really get lost in the maple top here: The irregular flames look different from every viewing angle, and with the right incidence of light, this Les Paul really starts to "burn." Absolute dream look! The guitar was taken by the previous owner to George Forester's Cryo-Tuning, a cold treatment designed to tweak the sound yet again. In fact, the guitar resonates just fabulously well - how much of this comes from the extra treatment, of course, can not be said exactly. What is undoubtedly from the cryotuning, however, are countless small hairline cracks in the finish and some dings and dongs in the binding (especially at the jack, see photo). This is a known side effect of the treatment and does not negatively affect the practical value of the guitar in any way. On the contrary, you have the visual advantage that the Les Paul now looks slightly aged! With the Custombuckers, the Les Paul sounds at the amp naturally exactly as smacky, open and three-dimensional, as one wishes it from an authentic Burst. Apart from the cryo traces, the guitar is in top condition and also comes with an ideal weight of not even 3.9 kg.
