We have really seen a lot of Paulas and have certainly fallen in love with one or the other. But when we opened the guitar case this time we really couldn't stop being astonished. The quilted maple top of this Les Paul comes across like a moving, autumnal cloudy sky; brownish waves flowing across the instrument in interesting, regular movements and shapes. But not only visually is this lightweight with only 3850 grams a highlite, also soundwise it can fully convince. Even when played dry you can feel the incredible resonance. And two burstbuckers provide the appropriate sound, which come along a bit more trebly and biting than the custombuckers used today, but at the amp ensure that this beautiful instrument also turns out to be a top player. Smacking, fat, differentiated sound with a very good dynamic. The typical '59 medium neck profile is extremely comfortable in the hand and invites fast runs and crunchy riffs. The guitar's pickups were once replaced for a short time; in the meantime, however, the original pickups are back in the instrument. There are a few notable play marks on the back of the Paula, otherwise the guitar is in excellent condition. Also the frets show no signs of play.
