Gibson Les Paul 59 Paul Kossoff Tom Murphy Aged (2012)

Here we once again have a phernomenal specialty, not to say an absolutely unique piece! When you think of a Gibson Les Paul 59 Paul Kossoff, you immediately think of songs like “All Right Now” and “Fire and Water”, those wonderful tones of the band Free, whose guitarist Paul Kossoff was until 1972. In 2012 the Gibson Custom Shop released an exact replica of his guitar, limited to 100 specimens, as a tribute to the legendary Rock and Blues guitarist who died in 1976. And as if it wasn't enough to be able to offer such a signature guitar this '59 Kossoff with serial number 009 also offers much more: this is one of the so-called “single digits”, i.e. one of the particularly sought-after Les Pauls with a serial number below 10. In addition, the previous owner had the artificial aging enhanced. As if Tom Murphy's aging with countless hairline cracks, quirks and the characteristic playing marks of the original wasn't enough, the various paint recesses were darkened once again to optimize the appearance of a really rocked guitar. And in terms of sound, all the Kossoffs we have had the pleasure of offering so far have been phenomenal instruments. Once again, you have the unique feeling of having a Les Paul in your hands that has been played intensively for 50 years. Super comfortable 59 Medium neck, which together with an ideal weight of only 3940 grams ensures the very best playability. A reference in terms of sound: very open, incredibly resonant and super dynamic. A great sound spectrum from clean to distorted to high-gain with an absolute top tone. Of course the 100 units of this series have long been sold out and are hard to come by. ...and you won't get your hands on such an optimized specimen a second time! As a further treat the previous owner has replaced the original speed knobs and pickup frames with those from “Art of Aging” to optimize the aged look, also with regard to the plastic parts (originals enclosed). We are therefore delighted to be able to offer you this fabulous one-off in top condition.
