Gibson Les Paul 59 Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aging Factory Special (2023)

We are delighted to be able to offer you another specimen from Jörg Hermann's exclusive “Factory Special” series. He only awards this title to very special instruments that are equipped with the special MHH upgrade specs such as special wood selection or a thinner nitro finish for optimum resonance. This '59 Les Paul also bears this distinction and enchants with its extremely subtle and authentic Ultra-Light Aging. In addition to the countless fine hairline cracks in the lacquer the special finish in the phenomenal color “Custom Enhance Antique Burst” and the enchanting top grain with magnificent bookmatching are immediately noticeable. In addition, attention was paid to complete hide gluing and the use of True Historic parts. Of course this attention to detail results in first-class playability, also thanks to a dream weight of just 3740 grams and the super comfortable “Authentic Fine Carved 1959 Rounded” neck profile as a further “special feature”. But the absolute highlight of this gem is definitely its multi-faceted sound. Unpotted Murphy spec Custombuckers were installed here (neck: underwound NPC TH MCMRMHH, bridge: NPC TH XHCMR), which as a special treat can also be split using push/pull potis to offer the greatest possible variety of sounds. Even without an amp this Paula is enormously resonant with the character of a much-played vintage guitar. On the amp the perfectly balanced pickups, which were modeled on old PAFs, deliver wonderfully growling basses, wiry mids and radiant highs. Absolute top sound, warm, bluesy and transparent as required, but with distortion also beautifully smacking and biting. You can work excellently with the tone here and thanks to the option of singlecoil operation you can even create classic Strat sounds with the Les Paul, so that you can really be at home in any style of music.
