We are pleased to offer you something very special and rare: a Gibson Les Paul 1959 60th Anniversary from the special edition limited to only 15 pieces for the 15th anniversary of the Dutch dealer "Max Guitars". This special edition was divided into three colors (Factory Burst, Dirty Lemon, Dutchburst/Darkburst). So this Les Paul represents one of only 5(!) specimens worldwide in the Darkburst finish. It features an incredibly beautiful, hand-selected AAAA maple top in authentic VOS finish with a unique grain and a great color gradient of the sunburst from the golden center to the deep red-dark brown edges. In addition, these Max models have been equipped with True Historic specs such as hide glue, hand-filed fretboard binding and replicated plastic hardware as an upcharge option. But the Paula doesn't just look good; with its ideal weight of just 3930 grams and pleasant "Authentic '59" neck profile it's extremely comfortable to play and invites hours of sessions. And it has just the right sound for that! Dry already very woody and balanced the two Custombuckers provide an airy-transparent, but when needed also creamy-smooth, extremely assertive sound, which is otherwise only known from vintage Gibsons with PAFs. Really incredible how three-dimensional the sound presents itself! So, we are dealing with an absolutely soundmighty top player, which has also been played with pleasure over the last three years. To further optimize this playing experience the previous owner "upgraded" the frets to Medium Jumbos and replaced the nut accordingly (original nut enclosed). The refretting was done professionally, as well as the short-term replacement of the pickups. Meanwhile the original pickups are back in the Les Paul, but of course the solder joints were touched in the course of the rebuild. If you can live with this minimal flaw, as well as with one or the other minor sign of use, you will get an absolute dream guitar here, which not only offers a harmony of look, sound and playability, but also entails an incomparable rarity factor with best value retention.
