...and another special treat from Musikhaus Hermann: this Paula is part of the limited “Factory Special” series, which is produced as a special edition for Musikhaus Hermann with various deviations from the regular series and can be recognized by the typical abalone dot on the 21st fret. Jörg Hermann personally hand-selected the woods for this guitar in the Gibson Custom Shop, resulting in a beautifully flamed top and an ultra-light total weight of the guitar of an incredible 3430 grams. Furthermore, you will find an outstanding finish by the Murphy Lab in the form of the so-called “Authentic Aging”. This is based on the well-known “Heavy Aging” and features countless hairline cracks, significant “dings” and “dongs” and the characteristic lacquer-free areas, giving the guitar a wonderfully authentic vintage patina. The “rocked” look is further enhanced by beautifully aged hardware and the missing pickup cap on the bridge, which of course immediately brings Jimmy Page's Bursts to mind. The neck profile and pickups also received special treatment: we have a slightly slimmer Medium '59 neck profile here, which sits perfectly in the hand and in combination with the dream weight invites you to enjoy hours of fatigue-free playing. The special MHH Custombuckers, slightly underwound on the neck, deliver exactly what you want from a reference Paula: the sound is incredibly airy, transparent and comes with exactly the mids and pearly highs that you associate with old PAFs. Plugged into the amp the guitar is smacky, fat and has plenty of bite. Whether Michael Bloomfield, Billy Gibbons or Gary Moore - anything is possible here! Crisp riffs reach the ear with the same naturalness as chunky chords or fat leads. In addition, the “Out of Phase” center position of both pickups with slightly reduced output delivers great sounds with a nasal basic character. We are delighted to be able to offer you this combination of a fantastic look, the best feel and an absolutely killer sound in mint condition.
