Gibson Les Paul 59 Joe Bonamassa "Skinnerburst" Aged (2014)

After the last “Skinnerburst” that we had was quickly removed from our stock, we went looking again and were able to get hold of another specimen of this iconic Les Paul. Only 100 pieces of these Les Pauls were built in the aged version! It is one of the highlights of the so-called “Inspired by” series and has of course long been sold out and is virtually unobtainable on the second-hand market. And we still only know of a few Les Pauls that reproduce the real old Burst feeling as faithfully as the 2014 replica of Joe Bonamassa's 1959 “Skinnerburst”. The top of this guitar comes with a beautiful Lemon Burst finish and a super-authentic grain, just like you know it from the “old ones” - with a clear flame, but not too obtrusive. The top aging by Tom Murphy rounds off the vintage look. But the real fun starts when you pick up the guitar. Thanks to the ideal '59 profile with rounded shoulders the neck feels as comfortable as if you were slipping into an old sneaker. Even without an amp you could strum away for hours, also thanks to the airy and direct sound. This wonderful dry sound is excellently transmitted to the amp by the specially wound Custombuckers - no mud at all, just really cool sounds! Les Paul sound at its very best: juicy with lots of depth, dynamics, three-dimensionality and a lively basic character.
