Gibson Les Paul 59 InPearly Tom Murphy Aged (2019)

We are pleased to offer you a very special "treat" here: a Gibson Les Paul 59 InPearly Tom Murphy Aged, made in 2019 as a one-off within the extremely limited "Inspired by" series of Musikhaus Hermann after personal wood selection by Jörg Hermann in special production by the Gibson Custom Shop. As the name suggests it is inspired by "Pearly Gates", the main guitar of Billy Gibbons, the guitarist of the Texas band ZZ Top. This dream Paula has a phenomenally grained Michigan hard maple top, beautifully bookmatched and with an authentic Ice Tea finish that takes on a darker color gradient towards the neck. The complete aging was done by Tom Murphy himself and of course he did a great job. Small and smallest hairline cracks, plectrum marks and a clear abrasion in exactly the places where Billy's original also shows the corresponding traces of his decades of use. This guitar is certainly first and foremost an absolute collector's item, but beyond that it is also a really damn good Les Paul, which is already a great pleasure to play dry. The medium profile of the neck, which is based on the Collectors Choice #7 (John Shanks), plays great. The pickups used are the namesake Pearly Gates Humbuckers from Seymour Duncan, which together with the fantastic vibration behavior of this absolute lightweight (only 3475 grams!) produce an incredible tone. Crisp and clear, but also crisp, fat and three-dimensional! "La Grange", "Tush", "Gimme All Your Lovin'" - these are the Texas Bluesrock sounds of the Reverend Billy G., where this top player really feels at home. In terms of sound, look and feel it may certainly be difficult to find a Les Paul that comes closer to the 1959 original than this InPearly. We are pleased to be able to offer you this rare piece with the highest collector's value, which as a special treat also comes with the "Grand Gtrs" magazine, in which the guitar was featured, in mint condition.
