In 2002 the Gibson Custom Shop dedicated in a strictly limited edition of just 250 specimens its own signature Paula to Gary Rossington, the guitarist of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd, who sadly passed away recently. It is said, that this guitar is one of the best-sounding Les Pauls ever. It is also one of the first series, for which Tom Murphy took on the aging himself. And what a great job he did! Every little detail of Gary's original '59 called “Bernice” up to the almost two-tone fingerboard has been meticulously recreated. You are instantly convinced that you are holding a genuine old Les Paul in your hands that has been rocked extensively over the decades. In combination with the beautiful sunburst and the unbelievable top grain, which is particularly enchanting on the example at hand, this is simply a top look! And the playability is also first-class: the '59 neck is strong but super comfortable in the hand as the shoulders are not too pronounced. And in terms of sound, the southern sun really rises here!
