The legendary Eagles' Grammy-winning hit single “Hotel California” is at the top of all-time lists and quite a few people consider the solo played with Joe Walsh to be the best guitar solo of all time. In 1974 Don Felder joined the Eagles to make a decisive impact on the development from Country music to a somewhat rockier sound. In the course of this a beautifully grained '59 Les Paul Standard was used regularly. As a tribute to Felder the Gibson Custom Shop produced detailed replicas of this “Felder Burst” in 2010 as part of a strictly limited series, only 50 of them in the “Aged & Signed” version. The Les Paul is characterized by the authentic dimensions of the original as well as a selected, one-piece mahogany body and a particularly interestingly drawn flametop. The tight, overly clear and wild grain even justifies the term “killer top” for us! It's really fun to look at the guitar from all possible angles, to discover new facets again and again and to enjoy the detailed aging, which really recreates every trace of use of the original. But even when you play it, you won't be disappointed. What the look promises continues with the sound and feel. The neck is somewhere between a '59 medium and a Slim Taper and can be played so quickly and brilliantly that you won't want to put this guitar down. Blessed with plenty of resonance and attack, on the amp the guitar gives you just the right amount of smack and enough sustain to play the “Hotel California” solo in a continuous loop.
