Avid collector Mike Reeder has a stunning collection of Gibson classics, including a 1959 Les Paul with serial number 90799. This was once owned by Brad Whitford, the legendary guitarist from Aerosmith. The Collectors Choice #31 is a handcrafted replica of this guitar, limited to 300 specimens. With a one-piece mahogany body, a two-piece flamed maple top and a deep dark rosewood fingerboard this model is true to the original down to the smallest detail. It comes in a fabulous “Reeder Burst” and is made to certified True Historic specs, even down to the lighter aluminum tailpiece, hide-glue and faithful to the original plastic parts! However, the outstanding feature of the Mike Reeder '59 Les Paul are the specially wound Custombuckers pickups, which according to Gibson are the most historically accurate PAF clones. Complemented by a hand-wired cable harness with “Bumble Bee” capacitors this is as close as you can get to a genuine '59 Burst. Even when played dry this Paula is a real joy to play, extremely resonant with a super response. And this impression continues on the amp. You can work beautifully with the great tone as the guitar reacts very quickly to the finest nuances of playing. The pleasant medium 59 C-neck with the rounded shoulders (not too thick and not too thin) is incredibly comfortable to play in combination with the great weight of just 3850 grams. Here you also have the classic Les Paul feel! The fact that you can hardly get enough of the special color tone, the pronounced grain and the fantastic aging rounds off the fantastic overall package in the best possible way.
